One of a kind New Yawker Pal Joey paved the way for sample-based house music with pioneering late '80s and early '90s creations like Soho “Hot Music” and Earth People “Dance,” all while slinging records at Vinylmania in the West Village and producing “Love’s Gonna Get’cha” for Boogie Down Productions. This makes him the perfect OG to enlist for a Fool’s Gold remix, and the beat master doesn’t disappoint, adding his signature loop d’loop touch to The Brothers Macklovitch’s “I Can Call You.” Pal Joey’s doubled up drum breaks (and freestyle vocal interlude!) take A-Trak and Dave 1’s Portrait cover to a dusted dancefloor in an outer borough near you.
